ORLANDO, Fla. – Women's tennis took on Creighton and dropped a ultra-competitive 4-3 match. FDU falls to 2-6, while the Blue Jays improve to 6-7.
Creighton wrapped up the doubles point without much of a problem. #1 doubles was tight but went unfinished.
Namie Isago fell at the #1 spot in straight sets.
Anastasia Lim returned the favor and won 6-3, 6-3 at #2. This marked her tenth victory of the season.
The first two sets of
Alena Kubanova's match at #3 singles went by quickly. She won the first set 6-2, before slipping in the second 1-6. Kubanova recovered and won the third set 6-2. The graduate student has played in nine three-set matches this year, winning five of them.
Yelena Kim dropped her match at #4 in straight sets.
Valentina Silva pulled out the win at #5 6-4, 7-5. This brought her record in the spring to 4-5, as she looks to build off this success.
Freshman
Ann Kato played admirably in a 5-7, 2-6 defeat.
