Scorching Weekend Earns Women's Bowling Mount Shootout Championship

MT. JOY, Pa. – FDU women's bowling put together one of their most successful weekends in recent history at the Mount Shootout. The Knights posted a 10-1 record and captured the championship title on Sunday afternoon.

Day one consisted of five baker total pinfall matches. FDU bowled over 1000 in all but one of these matches and came away with a 4-1 record. This included a win over NEC foe Mercyhurst. The Knights also beat Bryant with a whopping score of 1180, their highest in a series since March 7, 2020.

Momentum continued to roll for FDU on day two in the traditional format. They started out with an 1134 in a win over Merrimack and won all four matches on the docket. Again, they bowled over 1000 in all but one match. The Knights had a vacant spot in the final round of the day and posted an 1105. This was important because it gave them the #1 seed by just one total pin over Sacred Heart.

Thanks to being the top seed, the Knights just had to win one match on day three to advance to the championship. FDU was tested by host Mount St. Mary's in the baker match play format. The Knights bowled over a 200 in all seven games and won the match 4.5-2.5. They finished with 1688 total pins.

FDU met Niagara in the championship. The Knights won this match in just five games by a score of 4-1. They knocked down 1688 total pins.

Sophomore Amy Chrzanowski was named to the all-tournament team.
