BROOKLYN, N.Y. – FDU (11-16, 7-5) fell just short in a 62-58 loss to LIU (13-15, 9-4) on Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn.
Leading the way for FDU was Terrence Brown, who poured in a game-high 22 points, showing his ability to drive the offense and create scoring opportunities. Brown was dynamic on the floor, though his efforts weren't quite enough to push his team over the top.
Another standout for FDU was Bismark Nsiah, who contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Nsiah's all-around performance helped keep the Knights in the game, particularly with his ability to facilitate play and crash the boards. His presence in the paint was a key part of FDU's defensive efforts, where they kept the Sharks on their heels for much of the game.
In contrast, Malachi Davis and Jamal Fuller led the way for LIU, scoring 21 and 19 points, respectively, to guide the Sharks to the victory. The Knights' defense put up a solid fight, but the Sharks' late-game execution was enough to seal the win.
One of the key factors that ultimately hindered FDU in this close matchup was their turnovers. The Knights struggled with ball control throughout the game, committing 16 turnovers, which allowed LIU to capitalize on extra possessions. These miscues were especially costly in critical moments, as FDU's offense would often stall after defensive stops, limiting their ability to build momentum.
