Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Brown, Renninger Dominate in Blowout Win Over LIU

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (21-3, 11-0) defeated LIU (6-18, 3-8) at home by a score of 75-45.

The win extends the Knights' win streak to 14, continuing what has been a program-record streak. It also pads the Knights lead atop of the NEC leaderboard.

It was a firework show from the start. FDU began the game on a 12-2 run, immediately putting themselves in control of the game and prompting an early LIU timeout.

The first quarter saw a big milestone for the Knights. Teneisia Brown racked up a few quick buckets to help the early run. With four minutes left in the quarter, she was fouled and sent to the free throw line. With her first made free-throw, she recorded her 1,000th career collegiate point.

The Knights proceeded to pour the offense on throughout the remainder of regulation. FDU would lead for the entirety of the game.

FDU's offensive explosion was helped by a monster game out of Ava Renninger. The freshman continued her dominant freshman campaign, dropping 25 points in the victory. Her afternoon was highlighted by a highlight-reel four point play to put the Knights up by 17.

Joining Renninger as a stat sheet stuffer was Teneisia Brown, who added to her historic day with another spectacular performance. Brown recorded a double-double for the fourth straight game, scoring 23 points and grabbing ten rebounds.
