FDU Baseball Adds Nine in 2026 Signing Class

TEANECK, N.J. - FDU Baseball Head Coach Manny Roman has announced the 2026 recruiting class for FDU Baseball. The Knights will add nine players to bolster the roster for the 2026-27 season. 

"We're really excited about this group we've put together. Our staff did an outstanding job evaluating talent and building relationships with these young men and their families. It's a great mix of players and backgrounds, and each one will be an excellent representative of FDU," FDU Baseball Head Coach Manny Roman said. 

Below are the nine members of the 2026 FDU Baseball High School Recruiting Class.

Oliver Ellis: Pitcher, South Orange, New Jersey: Columbia High School
Oliver is one of the few incoming recruits staying in the Garden State in the 2026 recruiting class, a native of South Orange, N.J. brings a strong presence on the mound, and will be a great addition to the Knights pitching staff from the right side. Ellis was named to the All-Conference team in High School and is a captain of the Columbia High Baseball Team.

Josiah Figuereo: Pitcher / Middle Infielder, Fishkill, New York: Roy C. Ketcham High School
Josiah is making his way over from the Empire State to Teaneck, and can help the Knights in a variety of ways, as Figuereo serves as a pitcher and a middle infielder. His versatility has served him well during his prep years at Roy C. Ketcham High School, and will prove to be helpful for the Knights upon his arrival. 

Connor Bragg: Pitcher, Forked River, New Jersey: Donovan Catholic High School 
Connor is another talented right handed arm that is staying in the Garden State to play his collegiate baseball. In his time at Donovan Catholic High, Bragg was a four year starter for the Griffins. In addition to high school baseball, Bragg gave the NJ Marlins key innings in the club baseball circuit. 

Robert Hubbard: Pitcher / Outfielder, Mount Olive, New Jersey: Mount Olive High School
Robert is joining the Knights, looking to provide the same versatility he has gave Mount Olive High, where he was a multi-time All-Conference player for the Marauders. Hubbard provides his pitching arm from the left side, as well as the ability to shift to the outfield. Hubbard will be yet another New Jersey native that will look to make a difference for the burgundy and blue. 

John Gano: Pitcher, Staten Island, New York: St. Joseph By The Sea High School
John is another talented arm making his way over from New York to bolster the Knights pitching staff. Gano has given St. Joseph By The Sea High School key innings, and was named the pitcher of the year in the conference in 2024. In addition to his time in high school ball, he pitches for the TKR Reds in the club baseball circuit. 

Andrew Pron: Pitcher, Mullica Hill, New Jersey: Clearview Regional High School
Andrew is a right handed pitcher from Mullica Hill, New Jersey, where he played his high school baseball at Clearview Regional High where he has been a four year varsity pitcher. Andrew's brother Anthony, also played college baseball, and also played in the MLB's Draft League. 

Lucas Malamug: Pitcher / Catcher, Metuchen, New Jersey: Metuchen High School
Lucas is yet another New Jersey native that is staying in his home state to play for FDU. Malamug also provides some versatility to the FDU roster, as he is able to pitch and catch, and did so in his time with Metuchen High and Baseball Warehouse in the club circuit. Last year at Metuchen High, Malamug logged 56.2 innings pitched where he held a 1.73 ERA and struck out 82 hitters, and was named to the All-Divison Team as well as the Quad County All Star Team.

Daniel Golembiewski: First Basemen, Brick, New Jersey: Brick High School
Daniel heads to FDU from the Jersey Shore area, where he was an impact player at Brick High School. Golembiewski was named the Divisional Hitter of the Year as well as the Shore Conference Tournament MVP, as well as First Team All Shore Conference, as he led the Green Dragons to a Shore Conference Title last season. 

Ryan Merlo: Catcher, Fairport, New York: Fairport High School
The final member of the 2026 High School class for FDU Baseball is Ryan Merlo, coming from the Empire State, Merlo has been apart of a State Championship winning team at Fairport High, being the teams backstop. Merlo was also on two sectional title teams in his time in prep ball, and also caught for the Rochester Seminoles in the club baseball circuit.
