HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU men's basketball team (3-9) will close their non-conference campaign at Minnesota (7-5) on Monday. It marks the second-straight December in which the Knights will travel to Minneapolis.
- FDU and Minnesota have met just twice before
- The Gophers have taken both matchups
- The first meeting came in December of 2002.
- FDU fell to Minnesota 74-60 last year on 12/21
- The Knights led at halftime of last year's contests
- FDU fell in a hard-fought, physical matchup at Boston College, 72-61, on Monday night at Conte Forum.
- The Knights opened the game strong with sharp perimeter shooting and carried a 33-25 lead into halftime.
- Joey Niesman led the way with eight points, seven assists, seven rebounds and zero turnovers in over 35 minutes.
- FDU pushed its lead to nine early in the second half before Boston College responded with a run to regain the lead.
- The Knights tied the game multiple times, including at 50-50 and 52-52, but the Eagles pulled away late with four threes in the final eight minutes.
- FDU posted a season-low six turnovers, 16 assists and ten made threes, led by Noah Melson's 14 points with double figures from Eric Parnell and Taeshaud Jackson.
- Niko Medved is in his first season as head coach at his Alma Mater
- The Gophers (7-5) are 3-1 in December
- Minnesota split their first two Big Ten games – beating no. 22 Indiana and falling to no. 6 Purdue
- They are averaging 73.8 points per game, while surrendering 66.6 per contest

FDU begins conference play on Monday, January 2, at Mercyhurst. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Before returning home, the Knights will take on Saint Francis on Sunday, January 4.
