FDU Announces 2026 Softball Schedule

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU softball released their 2026 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The 2026 campaign begins with a trip out west to San Diego, California in mid-February. The Knights will participate in a tournament hosted by UC San Diego, and will face off against Boise State, Colorado State, Omaha, and the hosts in UCSD.

FDU will finish the month of February by playing Hofstra and George Mason in a weekend tournament hosted in Fairfax, Va. by George Mason. The Knights will head back to the state of Virginia just a few weeks later to participate in a tournament hosted by Norfolk State. FDU will play the host team, as well as North Dakota and Holy Cross.

The Knights will play a doubleheader at Stony Brook on March 10 as their first stand-alone contest of the year. Following the doubleheader, FDU will open conference play with a weekend series at CCSU starting on March 14.

Two high-major opponents sit on the schedule for FDU, as they will play doubleheaders at both Rutgers and Seton Hall. The Knights head to Rutgers on March 18, and Seton Hall on April 15.

FDU will hold their home opener on March 24, hosting Monmouth for a Tuesday afternoon match-up.

The Knights will host two mid-week non-conference doubleheaders. Saint Peter's comes to Hackensack on Thursday, March 26, and Army will come to town on Wednesday, April 1.

FDU will travel to face Sacred Heart in a mid-week doubleheader on Thursday, April 23. FDU will also return the favor with Saint Peter's, ending their non-conference schedule with a trip to Jersey City, N.J. on April 29.

In NEC play, the Knights will play host to LIU, Saint Francis, and Stonehill in Hackensack. FDU will also host the newest member of the NEC and Division I in New Haven. The first-ever meeting between the Knights and Chargers will be a mid-week series on April 7 and 8.

In addition to CCSU, the Knights will also take NEC road trips to Le Moyne, Mercyhurst, and Wagner.

The Knights will look to build off a 2025 campaign that saw them go 24-26 with a 13-8 record in NEC play. FDU returns reigning NEC Rookie of the Year and 2025 All-NEC First Team member Madison Rishel. Rishel finished the 2025 season with 70 hits and a .398 batting average, both of which are FDU single-season records.

She is joined by two returning All-NEC Second Team members in Brianna Holguin and Kailee O'Sullivan.
