TEANECK, N.J. - FDU baseball released their schedule for the 2026 season on Monday afternoon.
The schedule features 53 regular season games, with 25 of the contests being played at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The Knights will open the season against Gardner Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. on February 20, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. FDU will open their home slate with a midweek matchup against Iona on March 4.
"We put a good schedule together to challenge our guys and prepare us for conference play. Being on the road early on is going to prepare us for some long road trips we have later in the season. We are looking forward to the challenge, and we will be hitting the ground running when we get back from break and making a run at a conference title," FDU Baseball Head Coach
Manny Roman said.
The Knights will open their season on a four game road trip to Boiling Springs, N.C. for two contests against the home team, the Gardner Webb Bulldogs, and two additional neutral site games against the Dartmouth Big Green. FDU will play an additional non-conference series against the Georgetown Hoyas at Capital One Park in Washington DC, starting on February 27, and concluding on the first of March.
Following the home opener, the Knights will open their conference slate by taking a road trip to Staten Island to take on the Wagner Seahawks. The opening series of NEC play will take place from March 6-8 at SIUH Community Park.
After the Knights conclude the road trip to Staten Island, FDU will enjoy the confines of Naimoli Family Baseball Complex for quite some time. The club will begin a home stand of 10 games in 12 days, starting with two midweek games against Manhattan and and Monmouth. The stand features two NEC series against Coppin State and New Haven. Following the long home stand, the Knights will take to a five game road trip, with midweek contests against St. John's and Lehigh, and then a three game NEC series against Delaware State.
The month of May is packed with important games for FDU, as the Knights open the final month of the regular season hosting CCSU in a three game series from May 1-3, followed by a series at Norfolk State the following weekend. FDU will conclude their NEC slate with a three game series against LIU at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.
The Knights are bringing in 17 newcomers to the roster, but are also maintaining a core that proved be valuable in the 2025 campaign. NEC Second Teamer Johnny Gomez is returning to the roster after hitting .324 and driving in 36 runs, while playing all 53 games for the Knights last year. His teammate on the left side of the infield is also returning,
Diego Urreta after also playing all 53 games, will make his return to the team. The FDU outfield of
Hunter Ray,
Travis Stroh, and
Jimmy Mantuano are all returning to the roster for the 2026 campaign as well, after all three played over 40 games for FDU last season.
