HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jack Castleberry announced the promotion of Nick Battle to Assistant Coach on Tuesday morning. Battle began his time with the Knights in the 2023-24 season as the Director of Basketball Operations.
 
"Since joining the staff, Nick has proven to be incredibly hard worker," said Castleberry. "I have no doubt he will continue to push our players to be their very best in this new role."
 
In Battle's first season with the Knights, he played a part in the development of two All-NEC honorees in a year that saw FDU go 9-7 in conference play. Battle also assisted in all areas of basketball operations including travel coordination and player communication.
 
Before arriving in Hackensack, Battle got his foot in the coaching door at the high school level. The New Jersey native spent time at TSF and Cherokee as an assistant boy's coach and had a stint as the head junior varsity coach at GCIT. Battle also was a head coach at the AAU level for Prim3Tim3/
 
Battle played Division III men's basketball at Rowan in Glassboro, N.J. This is the same place he'd earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2022.  
 
FDU men's basketball kicks off their season on November 4 against Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
