BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Sophomore Gryffin Minor has picked up his second consecutive NEC Weekly Honor of the outdoor season, capturing Co-Player of the Week for his singles and doubles performances against Queens and conference opponent LIU.
Since March 11, the Bedford, Nova Scotia native holds a perfect 8-0 singles record. His two most recent victories came from thrilling matches, beating Queen's Cameron Henricy 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and fellow NEC opponent LIU's Victor Sjostrom 6-3, 0-6, 6-4. In doubles, Minor and partner Asaf Schwartz defeated Omar El Shehawey and Lucas Foix Sotos of Queens 6-3. Against LIU, Gryffin and Tyler Crook bested Dani Ostap and Lucas Hornung 6-3 to finish conference play undefeated at 4-0.
Gryffin and the Knights look ahead to the NEC Tournament, taking place April 12-14 at the Mercer County Tennis Center. The Burgundy and Blue will take on Merrimack for a chance to make it into the semifinals.
