WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The FDU men's tennis team's season came to a close in the NEC Championships semifinal round on Friday afternoon. The #5 Knight reached the semifinal with a thrilling 4-3 win over LIU, before falling 4-2 to #1 Binghamton.

The quarterfinal match proved to be a marathon. The Knights lost the doubles point in three highly contested matches. However, FDU surged in the singles leg. They earned three-set victories at no. 1 and no. 4 singles. On the five and six courts, FDU took care of business in straight sets to secure the tournament win.

The semifinal began with more tight doubles matches. FDU won no. 3 doubles, and dropped the no. 2 doubles match. The Knights mounted an admirable comeback attempt on the first doubles court, but fell 5-7.

Binghamton continued to build momentum after winning the doubles point. They won the first set on four of six singles courts. The Knights made things interesting by winning at no. 5 and no. 6. While they dropped the no. 1 singles match, FDU forced the no. 2 match into a third set. However, before it could finish, Binghamton clinched the match with a tiebreaker on court no. 4 in the second set.
