TEANECK, N.J. - The FDU Knights (14-22, 10-9) dropped game two against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils (10-19, 9-11) by a score of 16-2.
The FDU pitching staff and offense could not find a rhythm as the Blue Devils outscored the Knights by 14 runs. 11 of the 16 runs score by Central Connecticut were earned.
The Knights scored two runs off the bats of
Justin Sierra and
Joan Sosa. In the second inning with a lead off single from Sierra who moved to third off a stolen base and a balk, Sosa drove in the first FDU run of the day with a single of his own. In the Knights final attempt to score in the ninth inning, Cheeseman led off the inning with a double and scored later off a single up the middle from Sierra to capp of the Knights 16-2 loss.
Chris Mattioli started the day on the mound for the Knights pitching four innings. We saw
Ben Pika,
Joey Kosowsky and
Brian Yadlon make relief appearances pitching the final five innings.
The Knights managed to pick up seven hits and two walks in today's game. Cheeseman and Sierra picked up multi-hit games with two hits each.
Luke Russo,
Nick Quagliato and Sosa all recorded one hit each.

The Knights will return to action to close their three-game series against Central Connecticut on Sunday, April 21. The game will be played at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be streamed on NEC Front Row.
