Knights Fall Short at NEC Championship

HAMILTON LANES, N.J. – FDU wraps up the season with a third-round loss to SHU at the NEC Championships.

FDU and two-time defending champ Sacred Heart faced off. The Pioneers took an early lead as they bested the Knights in traditional play, 1064-968.

The quint Baker leg provided plenty of drama with FDU having a slim lead throughout before gaining a 10-pin advantage, winning 1117-1017. The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead rode in the best-of-7 Baker. FDU was victorious with the 4-1 victory.
 
The Knights then took on Merrimack and had a close loss1092-1066 in traditional play, then was swept with a 1165-927 loss in the quint Baker segment.
 
FDU moved to the match 8 to take on SHU for the seventh time this season. SHU came out on top in the traditional segment, 1101-1069, but the Knights wouldn't give up. FDU led the entire way through the quint Baker leg as Knights edged the Pios, 1099-1081.

In an intense best-of-7 Baker match, the Pioneers jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Knights took game three. SHU won the next two games to close out the Knights, 4-1.
