HACKENSACK, N.J. – Men's volleyball picked up their first conference win tonight in a thrilling five set match against Sacred Heart. The Knights were dominate in all aspects of play, hitting .242 with 65 total kills and tallying 10 blocks on the match.
It was a slow start for the burgundy and blue who lost the first set 21-25 to the tough hitting Pioneer team. The second set saw a hot start from the Knights who took an early lead and were able to hold that in order to win the set 25-21. Despite another good start to set three, the lead was not able to keep the Pioneers away as they came back with a dominating hitting performance to win 25-22. Sets four and five were back and forth as the Knights struggled to retain any lead. A strong defense and smart hitting were key to the final points as the burgundy and blue took the match 3-2.

Dylan McFadden who both tallied 20 kills on the night. That is a career high for McFadden, who also had three blocks for a total of 22.5 points. Sophomore
Naveen Fernando also had himself an impressive night, with three kills and zero errors for a hitting clip of .429. Fernando was dominate defensively, leading the team in blocks with a total of five in the match. Junior
Grady Hoffman was all over the back row, leading the team in digs with an impressive 18 ups.
What's Next
The Knights will look for their second conference win tomorrow (03/23) when they take on Merrimack for a 7 p.m. match. Action is set to take place at the Bogota Savings Bank Center in Hackensack, New Jersey.
