NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – FDU took on Merrimack in a road game that resulted in a Knights win of 71-63. With today's win the Knights improve to 9-5 in NEC play and 11-16 overall.
The Knights shot 41.4% from the floor and went 10-26 (38.5%) from three. Gaitley's bunch continues to impress with their ability to crashing the glass for 38 rebounds.
The Burgundy and Blue kept the stat sheet balanced with three players scoring in double-figures:
Staci Williams (15),
Teneisia Brown (14) and
Wilma Sorensen (12).
FDU found a rhythm is the first half being led by
Teneisia Brown who pulled in 14 rebounds before halftime.
Staci Williams continued to be a force for the Knights with nine points in the first half and six more in the second. The freshman guard is making a name for herself from three where she went 4-6 from tonight.
Coming out of the half, the Knights were able to continue their dominance on the floor finding answers for Merrimack's scoring. With a back-and-forth second half, it came down to the final minutes of the game with three Knights making it to the charity-stripe sinking six points to secure the 71-63 win over the Warriors.
Abby Conklin logged yet another 40-minute game where she scored nine points, going 3-7 from deep.
What's Next
FDU is back in action on Saturday, March 2 where they will travel to Wagner to take on the Seahawks. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and will be available for streaming on NEC Front Row.
