HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU fell to Sacred Heart on Thursday night by a score of 75-63. With today's loss the Knights drop to 8-4 in NEC play and 10-15 overall.
The Knights shot 40% from the floor and went 7-17 (41.2%) from three. Despite having a strong offensive showing, FDU could not come away with the win.
The Burgundy and Blue kept the stat sheet balanced with four players scoring in double-figures:
Teneisia Brown (18),
Lilly Parke (12),
Abby Conklin (11) and
Staci Williams (10).
FDU found a rhythm is the first half being led by
Teneisia Brown with nine points. Despite trailing by five after the first quarter, FDU was able to capitalize on a seven-point run in the second to take the lead 25-21 that was sparked by a Babore triple. Closing out the quarter with back-and-forth scoring, the Knights were able to go into the break where they were up 37-35.
The Knights were outscored 19-8 by the Pioneers in the third quarter and 21-18 in the fourth. Despite back-and-forth scoring in the final period, third quarter struggles doomed FDU as they fell to the Pioneers 75-63.
Abby Conklin continued her reign on the floor with another 40-minute game. The senior guard has now logged 12 games where she has played the entire duration of the contest.
What's Next
FDU is back in action at the Bogota Savings Bank Center on Saturday February 24 where they will take on Le Moyne. The Knights will be honoring and celebrating their seniors for Senior Day with a pregame ceremony. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and will be available for streaming on NEC Front Row.
