Knights Pick Up 10th Win of Season to Finish Non-Conference Play

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (10-3, 0-0) finished up the non-conference portion of the 2024-25 season on Sunday with a 63-49 victory over Bryant (7-6, 0-0). The Knights swept the FDU Christmas Classic to put a capstone on their non-conference slate.

FDU began the game in a big hole, with Bryant jumping out to a 15-2 lead early. The Knights could not find any answer offensively early on, starting the game off just 1-for-10 from the field as a team. Freshman Ava Renninger was able to find a bit of a spark for the Knights when she hit a high-arching three-pointer to stop the Bryant run.

From that point on, the offense began to click for FDU, as they ripped off a 13-3 run to close the quarter, and went into to the second quarter trailing just 18-15.

The second quarter saw the Knights pull away in the game, dominating every facet to take a lead over Bryant. After a scrappy start to the quarter, the Knights came alive, and out-scored Bryant 17-5 over the ten-minute stretch to take a 32-23 lead into the half. The momentum fully shifted when Renninger again knocked down a three at the 3:50 mark in the second quarter. The freshman's shot gave FDU a 25-23 lead. The Knights would hold the lead for the remainder of the game after that.
