No. 15 Creighton Downs FDU

OMAHA, NE. – The FDU Knights (1-2, 0-0) fell by a score of 96-70 to no. 15 Creighton (2-0, 0-0) on Sunday evening in Omaha. The Bluejays closed the first half on a 26-10 run to create the separation needed from a pesky Knights squad.

Fresh off a 100-point performance in their home opener, FDU came out firing on the offensive end. Threes from Dylan Jones and Bismark Nsiah respectively bookended a 10-2 Knights' spurt to open the game. Jones finished the game with 12 points, knocking down three more threes in the remainder of the contest. The Utah native is shooting 46.2% from deep on the year.

The Bluejays then found their footing and built a 24-17 lead at the 9:04 mark in the first half. However, a tough around jumper courtesy of Jo'el Emanuel put FDU back on track. Ahmed "Tyree" Barba-Bey followed these two points up with five straight points of his own to make it a 7-0 FDU run. Just like that, things were knotted at 24-24 with 7:25 remaining in the half.

Unfortunately, FDU was only able to connect on three more field goals for the rest of the first period. Creighton took a 50-34 lead into the break.

One of those three field goals came from Terrence Brown, who put together his third-straight performance of over 18 points. Tonight, he posted 19 points on 7-19 shooting. He's now averaging 20.3 points per game on the year.

Jones opened the second half with a triple to cut the lead Bluejay lead to 13, but that was as close as FDU would get. Creighton scored the next 12 to effectively put the game out of reach.

Three Knights hit double figures in the game. Brown (19), Nsiah (12), and Jones (12) all contributed nicely to FDU's offensive efforts. 12 points marks a season-high for Nsiah. As a team, they shot 35.8% from the field and 37.5% from deep.

Creighton, on the other hand, shot 47% from the field. They got to free throw line 11 more times than FDU, outrebounded the Knights by 21 and cashed in 27 points off turnovers. They were led by Ryan Kalkbrenner, who poured in 24 points in just over 22 minutes of action.
