HACKENSACK, N.J. – In Saturday's match-up between FDU and Sacred Heart, the Knights fell to the Pioneers by a score of 68-51. The Knights now move to 4-3 in NEC play and 6-14 overall.
Abaigeal Babore led the Knights with 13 points while
Teneisia Brown followed with ten points and seven rebounds.
The Knights put up solid numbers through the first quarter where they shot just over 46% from the floor along with 42.86% from beyond the arc. Collectively, the Knights were able to outrebound the Pioneers 10-6 in the first period. With their ability to land shots from the floor and being aggressive to the ball on defense, the Knights were able to seal a 15-11 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
Despite an impressive first quarter, the Knights couldn't hold the lead for long as the second quarter was started with the Pioneers going on a 14-4 run to close the deficit and take a six-point lead halfway through the period. Sacred Heart led 34-27 going into the half.
Coming out of the half, the Knights struggled to find a groove as they were only able to land 5-12 of their shots from the floor. Despite a thrilling halfcourt bucket by
Nickie Carter, the Knights trailed after three 62-38.
Through the fourth, FDU found rhythm with Babore who shot 3-3 from the floor with a shot from deep as she tallied seven points in the quarter. Despite outscoring the Pioneers 13-6 in the final period, the Knights couldn't regain the lead as they fell by a score of 68-51.
Abby Conklin logged her 11
th game of the season playing all 40 minutes of regulation time. The senior guard is currently ranked third in Division I women's basketball for minutes played per game where she averages 37.74 minutes per game.

The Knights will hit the road to take on LIU on Thursday February 1
