FDU Concludes Road Swing with Fourth-Straight Victory

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- For the second-straight night at the Voller Athletic Center, FDU (4-1, 0-0) comfortably swept Roberts Wesleyan (0-2, 0-0). The Knights leave the back-to-back in Rochester with two wins in their pocket.

Leading 25-24 in the opening frame, Roberts Wesleyan had a chance to seize control of the match early. However, they committed a service error on the next point and gave FDU a chance to steal the set. The Knights capitalized and Artem Vetrov capped off a 3-0 run with an ace. This spurt gave FDU set number one, 27-25.

The Knights rolled from there winning sets two and three by a combined score of 50-30 (25-16, 25-14).

Karl France's team was able to stifle the Roberts Wesleyan attack for large portions of the night. The Redhawks hit in the negative in two of three sets and ended the match with a .014 hitting percentage. FDU forced their opponent into 19 attack errors while limiting them to 20 total kills.

On the offensive side of things, freshman setter James Barone set a career-high with 29 assists. His primary target was Ethan Young, who produced seven kills. The Knights were also able to generate constant pressure in the middle as Santiago La Jara and Rayjan Suarez Palacios combined for 14.5 points.
