Cross Country Competes in Jasper XC Invite

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. - FDU men's and women's cross country headed to New York to compete in the Jasper Fall XC Invite, their second respective meets of the season. The burgundy and blue ran impressive times, giving a glimpse into the future of the young team.

The women placed 16th out of 19 teams, being led by graduate student Cassandra Meyer, who posted a team-best time of 26:07.3 in the 5k event.

"Cassandra Meyer led the women to their best team finish of the season." Said head coach Wesley Stephens. "Excited to see how they build upon this race heading into a dual meet with Saint Peters in two weeks."

Sophomore Trevor Ehrlicher led the men, posting an impressive 27:20.4. Fellow sophomore Luis Abreu and freshman Terry Scott joined Ehrlicher in the top 100 finishers, as the knights placed 12th out of 20 teams.

"Outstanding effort for the men today. It was an adjustment for them competing their first 8000m race of the year, but they gritted out a tough team finish." Said Stephens. "Great to see another strong race from Luis Abreu and Trevor Ehrlicher."

The Knights will look to continue their promising season on Saturday September 30 when they compete at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA.
