HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU women's basketball head coach Stephanie Gaitley welcomed two additions to her 2023-24 squad Thursday as the Knights welcome Lilly Parke and Wilma Sorensen to the banks of the Hackensack.

Parke joins the Knights from AUM where she played one season for the Warhawks. Parke appeared in 26 games last campaign averaging nearly six points a night and tallying 93 rebounds, 56 on the defensive end. Parke, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, dished out 28 assists in her lone campaign at AUM.

Prior to arriving in the states, Parke was named the College Sport Auckland Women's Basketball Player of the Year in 2021 and was her high school's MVP from 2019-21.

"I have had great success with kids from New Zealand," said Gaitley. "As soon as I saw Lilly was in the portal, I studied her tapes. She reminds me a lot of Mary Goulding who had a great career at Fordham. I love Lilly's ability to go inside and out. She can shoot the three which really spreads the defense. She is a strong defensive player and a tough matchup."

Sorensen joins the Knights from Boras, Sweden marking the third-straight season the Knights will have a player from Sweden on their squad. Sorensen has seen time with the Swedish national team, playing in numerous FIBA tournaments for her home country and plays the point guard position.

"Our staff happened to see Wilma and her Swedish team at a tournament in May," commented Gaitley. "She is a big guard who can score off the dribble. She sees the floor well and makes those around her better."
