BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - The Northeast Conference unveiled the league's 2023-24 men's and women's basketball conference slates Thursday with NEC action scheduled to tip-off on Thursday, January 4 for the men and Saturday, January 6 for the women.
With both FDU basketball teams advancing to their respective NEC finals this past season, the Knights are expected to be contenders in the nine-team NEC. 2023-24 marks the first season for Le Moyne, the newest member of the conference and also marks the end of Merrimack's reclassifying period to Division I making the Warriors eligible for NCAA postseason play.
The men start the campaign at Merrimack on opening day and the women get their season underway as the defending NEC Regular Season Champions at Le Moyne, facing the Dolphins for the first time in program history.
Both teams will take on the eight other NEC members in two-game home-and-home series for a total of 16 conference games.
Looking ahead to conference tournaments, the NEC Men's Basketball Championship begins on March 6 and the women's tournament gets underway on March 11.
