FREDERICK, Md. - Recent FDU graduate
Brendan Medoro signed a professional contract with the Spire City Ghost Hounds of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball earlier today. Medoro becomes the second Knights pitcher in as many seasons to sign with an ALPB club as
Nick Evangelista joined the High Point Rockers for the 2022 campaign.
Medoro recorded a program-record 20 wins in his five seasons with FDU, posting an ERA of 5.21 during his time at FDU. 2023 was a breakout year for the right-handed tosser with the Lake Worth, Fla. product making 19 appearances, allowing just 33 earned runs in 65.1 innings of work. Medoro struck out a career-best 61 batters in 2023 resulting in a program single-season leading nine victories.
It is expected that Medoro will make his professional debut Saturday, July 1 against the Lexington Counter Clocks.
