Reigning NEC Champs Unveil 2023 Women's Volleyball Schedule

HACKENSACK, N.J. - Coming off the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championship, FDU women's volleyball's 2023 schedule was revealed Thursday. The reigning Northeast Conference champions will take part in 30 matches beginning August 25 when the Knights face Kansas City in the opening match of the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla.

Finishing last season with 17 wins, the Knights, led by head coach David Nguyen in his second season, return their top four kills leaders and more than 1,000 of the Burgundy and Blue's assists. FDU has four weekend tournaments on the docket in the lead-up to NEC play as the Knights follow up the trip to Florida with the Towson Invitational (Sep. 1-2), Steel Classic Tournament (Sep. 8-9) and the Rose Hill Classic (Sep. 15-16).

"I am excited for the team to get back on the court," said Nguyen. "We will be welcoming nine new faces to our program this fall. It is going to be fun integrating new perspectives into our team dynamic. We would also like to welcome Le Moyne's volleyball program to the NEC and look forward to competing against them this season.

"We will be competing against some tough competition in our out-of-conference schedule. There will be multiple opponents with 20-plus wins from last year. This will prepare us to make another run at a conference championship. Conference will once again be tough this season. There are some very talented teams that are all hungry and striving for the same goal. The conference will be wide open this year, so I am excited to see how it all plays out."

The Knights' first home match of the campaign comes on September 5 against NJIT. New to the schedule is Le Moyne, located in Syracuse, N.Y., as the Dolphins become a member of the NEC on July 1.

In total, the Knights will host 10 matches at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center. All home games will air live on NEC Front Row and the NEC On the Run app. Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern unless otherwise noted.
