Loretto, Pa.- Today April 12th, the FDU women's lacrosse team (1-9)(1-4 NEC) faced off against Saint Francis U (Pa.) (8-4)(4-2 NEC). The young Knights gave it their all but could not keep up with the experience and depth of the Red Flash.
1st
- Riley Eaton got the Knights on the board with her 10th goal of the season after the Red Flash scored the first 4 goals of the game
- SFU responded with two goals to bring the score to 6-1
- Saige-Lyn Gidzinski scored her 18th goal of the season from a free-position shot to bring the Knights within four goals
- The Red Flash again answered with two goals of their own extending their lead to six
- Gidzinski set up Eaton with a beautiful assist who scored her second goal of the game to make it 8-3
- SFU scored the final two goals of the period
2nd
- Alyssa Perez opened the scoring in the second period with her 16th goal of the season
- The Red Flash responded with three goals of their own to take a 13-4 lead going into the half
3rd
- Karina Vélez-Corretjer scored the first goal of the second half which cut the Red Flash lead to eight
- SFU scored the next six goals in the period
4th
- The Red Flash extended their lead to 22-5 as they scored the first three goals of the quarter
- Riley Eaton completed the hattrick for her second of the season to make the final score 22-6
The Knights head on the road again to face Sacred Heart on April 15th at 3:30 PM. FDU will be in for a competitive match as SHU is one of the two undefeated teams left in the NEC.
