FAIRFAX, V.A.- The FDU Knights were handed their sixth-consecutive loss on Saturday, courtesy of George Mason. The Patriots were able to handle the Knights in straight sets.
FDU hung around for the first 23 points of the opening set. However, George Mason was able to create separation by way of a 6-0 run that gave them an 18-11 lead. The Patriots did not look back and finished the set, 25-21.
In the second set, it was a 4-0 run from George Mason that proved to be the turning point. This spurt took the score from 13-12 to 17-12 in favor of the Patriots. FDU was not able to get back into the set, dropping it 25-19.
FDU did not go away easily in the third. Two Patriot attack errors drew the match even at 19-19. However, George Mason ensured that the match would not be extended winning six of the final eight points to win the set 25-21.
Jamal Ellis Carballo paced the Knights' attack firing 17 kills. He was primarily set up by
Rui Fernandes who had 28 assists.
Grady Hoffman tried to detract the Patriot attack as he put up 11 digs.

Now, it is the Knights turn to take the NEC Buffalo road-trip next weekend. It kicks off with a match at Daemen University on Friday, March 24. The match will begin at 7pm and be streamed on NEC front row.
