AMHERST, N.Y.- FDU was swept by NEC-leading Daemen in the second-ever meeting between the two programs on Friday night.
The initial stages of the first set were competitive. A Daemen service error helped FDU draw their deficit down to one with the score at 9-8. However, after a replay review went in favor of Daemen, the Wildcats exploded for a 10-1 run. Daemen would continue this surge to close out the first set 25-15.
Daemen took this success and built off of it immediately in the second stanza. They opened the set on a 7-0 run and never looked back. The set ended 25-13 with Daemen on the winning end.
The third set proved to be the closest of the night with FDU holding a 15-14 lead at the media timeout. The Knights expanded the lead to three at 17-14 and looked like they may extend the match to a fourth set. However, the Wildcats prevented the plot from thickening with a 11-5 run that ended the set 25-22, and match 3-0. The win improved Daemen's perfect NEC-record to 7-0.
Dylan McFadden returned to the floor for the first time since February 18 and led the team in kills with four. The freshman also led the team in digs with 11.
