NEW CASTLE, Del. - No. 14 women's bowling got off to quite the start Saturday as the Knights won each of their five matches on the first day of the Chestnut Hill Baker Classic. FDU would tally seven total wins over 10 matches during the two-day event.
The Knights' win streak against new Northeast Conference program No. 25 Merrimack was snapped at four matches as the Warriors toppled FDU in two games to close the event. The Burgundy and Blue bested fellow NEC member Wagner by 120 pins on day one of the event.
Mike LoPresti's Knights finished the 20-team event in fourth place.

- Allysha Howard led the pack, averaging 20.93 pins a frame and just shy of 10 sticks per first ball.
- Senior Ashley Sham hit 88.2 percent of her single-pin spare attempts.
- Newcomer Emily Fogarty continued to stand out on the scorecard as the Jackson, N.J. product struck 15 times and went a perfect five-for-five in single-pin spares
FDU takes part in the USBC Suffolk Tournament on Saturday, February 11 before the final NEC meet of the regular season, set to be held on Feb. 18 and 19 in East Haven, Conn.
