Men's Basketball Prepares for Three Critical Road Games in Final Four Contests

FAIRFIELD, Conn. and STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - FDU men's basketball hits the road for three of their final four regular season games of Northeast Conference play this season with all eyes on seeding for the upcoming NEC tournament at the start of next month. FDU faces Sacred Heart, Wagner and Saint Francis U (Pa.) in the stretch before closing the book on the regular season at home on February 25 against St. Francis Brooklyn.

FDU has faired well on the road in league play with the 15-12 Knights 5-0 on the road in NEC play. Looking to battle to season splits with Sacred Heart and Wagner this week, the Knights first test will be a rematch of the January 20 bout against the Pioneers. FDU continues to be strong behind the dynamic backcourt of Grant Singleton and Demetre Roberts, the pair combining for over 3,500 career points in five seasons together between FDU and Division II St. Thomas Aquinas.

Last time out against the Pios, the story was Sacred Heart's Joe Reilly who posted a game-best 29 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field in 37 minutes on the floor. Behind Reilly and NEC Prime Performer Nico Galette, the Pioneers hit their home hardwood tied for third place while the Knights enter Thursday's tilt in second behind Merrimack and Stonehill who are tied for the league-lead.

Looking ahead to Saturday, FDU visits Staten Island for the final regular game of the campaign against the Seahawks who came back from down 11 to best the Knights on February 4. Wagner's Julian Brown poured in 12 off the bench, dishing four assists as the Sehawks completed the come-from-behind win over the Burgundy and Blue.

After the weekend's two contests, FDU heads to Loretto, Pa. on February 23 to face the Red Flash in the final regular season road game of 2022-23.

The 2022-23 men's basketball season is presented by Bogota Savings Bank.
