HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights fell to the UNLV Lady Rebels in a tough battle 71-59. With this game the Knights drop to 2-10, while the Lady Rebels improve to 10-1.
NOTABLE NAMES
- Teneisia Brown led the Knights with 15 points and contributed eight rebounds off the glass.
- Abby Conklin pulled in ten boards and added four assists.
- Lilly Parke scored ten points for the Knights on 4-for-11 from the field.
QUARTER 1
- Brown exploded for nine points in the first period on 50% shooting and also 3-for-3 shots from the charity stripe.
- The Knights kept the scoring tight as Parke closed in on the Lady Rebels with a three making it a one-point game early in the first.
- Brown single-handedly spurred a six-point run which pushed the Knights up 12-7.
- Back-and-forth scoring the remainder of the quarter resulted in a UNLV lead of 18-16.
QUARTER 2
- FDU was not able to capture a lead in the second as they were doomed by early baskets from UNLV.
- Brown collected six more points and four rebounds.
- FDU went 5-for-17 (29.41%) from the field.
- The Knights were outscored by the Lady Rebels which resulted in a 40-31 score going into the half.
QUARTER 3
- The Lady Rebels made quick work out of the half going on an 8-0 run.
- The Knights picked it up late in the quarter but were ultimately outscored and closed the quarter trailing 58-40.
QUARTER 4
- The Knights kept the fourth quarter close as they found a way to slow and keep pace the Lady Rebels offense.
- Going back-and-forth, FDU was able to make waves with back-to-back buckets by Nickie Carter.
- Despite outscoring the Lady Rebels in the fourth quarter, the Knights fell to UNLV 71-59.
