INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- FDU men's volleyball head coach
Karl France has been appointed to the NCAA Division I and II Men's Volleyball Committee. France will serve on the committee representing both the Knights and the Northeast Conference.
"We are very pleased about Karl's appointment to the NCAA Men's Volleyball Committee," said Brad Hurlbut, FDU's Senior Associate VP/Director of Athletics "Karl brings a wealth of valuable experience that will benefit the committee during a time of continued growth and rising popularity in the sport of men's volleyball."
France is the lone head coach that has been selected to serve on the five-person committee. The other chairs are filled by two administrators and two conference commissioners.
"This is a great honor. It is my pleasure to serve the NCAA. I am excited to be a part of this committee and look forward to helping our great game grow." said France.
France will begin his third season as head coach of the Knights in January. He has been the leader of the program since their inception in 2021. In his first two seasons, he has led the Knights to 14 wins and coached All-NEC first team selection
Jamal Ellis Carballo in 2023. Last season, France guided the Knights as one of eight programs that participated in the inaugural NEC men's volleyball campaign.
When France first arrived at FDU, he served as the interim women's volleyball head coach in 2021.
Before his time on the Hackensack, France served two separate stints as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs at NYU (DIII). During this time, he was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2020.
In between his stints at NYU, France led Division I Rutgers-Newark as head coach for four seasons.
France graduated from Bowling Green with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 1991.
