HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights fell to the NJIT Highlanders by a score of 61-46. With today's loss the Knights drop to 1-6.
NOTABLE NAMES
- Teneisia Brown cashed in her second double-double of the season as she dialed in 17 points and 11 rebounds.
- Staci Williams continued the momentum from her last performance with a contribution of 11 points.
QUARTER 1
- The Highlanders got an early jump putting five on the board as they opened the game with a shot from deep and immediately turned the ball over resulting in shot from the paint.
- Nickie Carter closed the gap knotting the game at five with a shot from deep.
- Back-and-forth scoring brought the quarter to a close with NJIT leading 16-15.
QUARTER 2
- Brown led the Knights for the quarter with four points and three rebounds.
- The Highlanders outscored the Knights 13-10 in the second quarter, closing out the half with a four-point lead at 29-25.
QUARTER 3
- With a hot start, NJIT went on a 9-2 run that was interrupted by a media timeout with the score at 38-27.
- The Highlanders made quick work out of the gate as they raised their lead to 16 and the Knights could not find any answers as they trailed at the end of three 51-37.
QUARTER 4
- As scoring went back-and-forth the Knights couldn't capitalize on opportunities to take control.
- NJIT closed out the game with a score of 61-46 over the Knights.
