WOODBRIDGE, VA- The bowling season continued with a weekend trip to Virginia for the Hawk Classic. No. 15 FDU finished the three-day event with a record of 3-10.
WEEKEND SUMMARY
The Knights battled in tight matches all weekend long. Eight of their Baker Total Pinfall and Traditional matches were decided by less than 100 pins, including a memorable match against top-ranked Vanderbilt. On top of this, four of FDU's first eight losses came by a margin of less than 20 pins.
Allysha Howard continued to be a bright spot for FDU. On day two, she knocked down 200 or more pins in five of six matches.
Julianna Spina displayed an ability to rise to the challenge against the top competition. She fired weekend-highs of 246 and 241 against no. 7 Jacksonville State and no. 1 Vanderbilt, respectively. In total, the Knights were able to eclipse the 1000-pin mark in seven of 13 matches on the weekend.
