Knights Fall in Home Opener to the Mountaineers

HACKENSACK, N.J. – In the home opener of the season, the FDU Knights fell to the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers 64-50. The Knights drop to 0-5 and the Mountaineers improve to 2-2 with the conclusion of today's contest.
 
 
NOTABLE NAMES
  • Teneisia Brown recorded her first FDU double-double of the season as she led scoring with 13 points and rebounds where she collected 10 off the glass.
 
FDU was led by Brown and Abby Conklin offensively where they totaled 23 points combined. Conklin shot four-for-four from the foul line and went 2-for-10 from the field. FDU made the most of the floor as 24 of their points were made from the paint. The Knights were able to capitalize on their bench players as they were able to outscore the Mountaineers 17-15 from the bench. 
 
Mount St. Mary's was led by Jo Raflo who scored 18 points. Raflo shot 4-13 from the floor and went 8-for-10 from the charity stripe. The Mountaineers were able to contribute 18 points from fast breaks. Mount St. Mary's shot 39.2% from the field.
