BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- For the second-straight time, FDU's Allysha Howard was named the NEC Bowler of the Week.
Howard's clutch performance at the Sunshine State Classic helped FDU to a 9-4 record over the weekend in a field full of nationally ranked programs. FDU earned statement wins over no. 22 Delaware State and no. 6 Youngstown State, who went on to win the tournament.
In FDU's win over Youngstown State, Howard paced the Knights with 256 pins. This was part of a day where the junior knocked down 1169 pins for an average of 233.8 per match. This was the third-best average of all bowlers and earned her a spot on the all-tournament team.
Reigning from Downey, California, Howard continued to play well against NEC rival Sacred Heart. Her performance helped FDU topple the Pioneers twice on day three of the tournament where she earned All-Tournament Team honors.
"Allysha continues to display grit, determination, and a fierce competitive spirit. Now it's back to training!"- Head coach Kerry Martinez.
