The Knights Take Down Pride in Home Exhibition

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU women's basketball team hosted the Molloy Lions in their opening exhibition game. The Knights dominated the court, earning a 75-56 win over the Lions.
 
Notable Knights
  • Teneisia Brown was a machine on both sides of the ball tonight as she finished the night with 17 points and 6 rebounds (3 offensive, 3 defensive).
  • Abby Conklin put up 14 points for the Knights going 4-5 from behind the arc.
  • Ciera Cevallos played tough defense tonight pulling in 4 defensive rebounds and 5 steals.
 
1st Quarter
FDU 25, Molloy 11
 
  • FDU was down 8-3 but answered with one of Conklin's three three-pointers and followed up with an immediate jump shot that resulted off a turnover caused by Cevallos to tie it up 8-8 with 4 minutes to play in the first quarter.
  • As the Knights took the lead, Nickie Carter scored two three-pointers that were broken up by another Conklin three-pointer, giving FDU a 21-11 lead.
 
2nd Quarter
FDU 39, Molloy 22
 
  • After a Lions layup, the Knights went on an 8-point run, broken up by a Molloy shot in the paint where Brown answered with a jump shot putting the score at 35-17.
  • FDU cleaned up the quarter with Conklin's fourth three-pointer of the game, closing the half with a lead at 39-22.
 
3rd Quarter
FDU 57, Molloy 33
 
  • FDU opened the scoring in the third quarter, but Molloy was able to answer the Knights and keep the deficit at 48-30.
  • With the spark of a fast break, Cevallos drove down the court for a layup and a successful three-pointer that was broken up by a fast break by Carter that resulted in a timeout with the Knights in the lead at 55-30.
 
4th Quarter
FDU 75, Molloy 56
 
  • The Knights took their biggest lead of the contest at 62-33 from a turnover that resulted in a quick layup by Lilly Parke.
  • Scoring went back-and-forth through the duration of the fourth quarter resulting in a FDU win of 75-56.
