STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Salif Mane sets new NCAA and world record to date in the triple jump while Knights have very successful meet at the Penn 10-team select.  

Junior Salif Mane competed in his first triple jump competition of the season with high expectations and was able to live up to the expectations as he performed spectacularly. On his first attempt of the day Mane was able to break his previous best to obtain a mark of 16.67m which broke his previous college facility record and set a new one at the Ocean Breeze Complex. This mark also landed him the number-one spot on the worldwide chart for indoor triple jump during the 2022-23 season. 

Senior Taeco O'Garro also had a great day at the meet while competing in the triple jump. This was also his first triple jump competition of the season but that did not hold Taeco back from breaking his personal record. Taeco was able to obtain a mark of 15.90m which placed him second in the competition and also landed him a spot on the world top-10 list at number 10 for the indoor 2022-23 season.  

O'Garro also tied his personal record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.00 which placed him third in the competition.  

The Knights also dominated the 400-meter dash with the top two times in the event. Senior Conroy Ellis placed first with a time of 48.69 and sophomore Malik Ricketts placed second with a time of 48.96.  

Junior Tahj Millings and Freshman Ahmed Brown both put up good numbers in the shot-put competition. Brown finished third with a throw of 15.18m and Mullings placed fourth with a throw of 15.17m.
