HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU announced Tuesday the 2022-23 non-conference schedule for the Knights' women's basketball program. FDU will take part in 13 contests before beginning Northeast Conference play.
"Scheduling is a huge component of building a strong program. This year is no different as we continue to grow and strive to achieve our ultimate team goal which is to become the Northeast Conference champions," stated head coach
Angelika Szumilo. "We have created a very challenging non-conference schedule that we hope will prepare us to be playing our best basketball when we reach NEC play."
Opening the season at Marquette, the Burgundy and Blue will face the Golden Eagles for the first time in program history on November 7. The Knights home opener at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center will come November 12 against Cornell.
FDU will take part in the Savannah Invitational from November 21-23. The Knights will be taking on UIC, Austin Peay, and Davidson. This will be the first time in program history FDU faces off against UIC and Austin Peay and only the second time they will take on Davidson.
Returning to the Garden State, FDU will be back at Stratis Arena to take-on Maryland Eastern Shore (Nov. 27) before traveling to NJIT (Nov. 30) and then returning home for two-straight games against UMass Lowell (Dec. 3) and Georgetown (Dec. 9).
The defending NEC regular season champions finish-up non-conference play on the road for two of the final three matchups, Fordham (Dec. 11) and Delaware State (Dec. 30).
