HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU men's basketball head coach
Tobin Anderson announced Wednesday the additions of
Jayden Brown,
Quadir Harrell and
Brayden Reynolds to the team's 2022-23 roster. The trio of guards will participate in the Knights' summer session which began yesterday, July 5.
All from the Tri-State Area, Brown and Harrell hail from New Jersey while Reynolds joins FDU from Pittsburgh, Pa.
"We are exciting about this talented group of guards," remarked Anderson. "They are tough, hard workers and compete at a high level."
From just across the Hackensack River in Teaneck, N.J., Brown joins FDU from Immaculate Conception (Montclair) where he had a breakout senior campaign, averaging 19.7 points per game, 4.6 assists and three boards. A career 1,000-point scorer (1,084), Brown amassed a 50-point game on February 20, 2021 against Covenant Prep in a 111-70 victory for the Lions. With basketball running in his family, Brown's cousin Justin Crosgile was a four-year Division I men's basketball student-athlete, playing two seasons at Saint Joseph's, one at Eastern Washington and his fourth year at UTEP.
The second Jersey product to join the Burgundy and Blue this season, Bound Brook native Harrell arrives on the Hackensack as the all-time boys leading scorer at Bound Brook High School with 1,551 points in 96 games played. At 5'11, Harrell proved his might logging career totals of 301 rebounds, 404 assists and 203 steals. He was also a Second Team All-Group 2 selection in the 2021-22 season by NJ.com.
Making the trek from the Keystone State to the Garden State, Reynolds attended Chartiers Valley and Western Reserve Academy before his arrival at FDU this month. The 2021 Post Gazette Player of the Year, Reynolds was also a Section 5A All-State Selection and earned First Team All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons (2019-20, 2020-21). An honor roll student-athlete, Reynolds enjoys fishing and golfing away from hoops.
