BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (20-27, 12-10 NEC) was unable to hold off LIU (30-16, 15-7 NEC) in its first game of the series on Friday, falling 4-2 at LIU Baseball Stadium.
How it happened
- The Knights opened the scoring with TJ Werner scoring on a fielder's choice in the top of the second inning.
- LIU responded with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second.
- After four scoreless innings, Brelon Harden scored off an RBI single to right-center by Hunter D'Amato to tie the game at 2-2.
- The Sharks retook the lead with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 4-2.
- FDU finished the game with eight hits.

- Rich Racobaldo (2-6) took the loss, giving up four runs and striking out two in six innings.
- Werner went 3-4 with a run.
- D'Amato finished 1-5 with one RBI and a stolen base.
