TEANECK, N.J. -Junior Tommy Verga launched his fourth home run of the season but, the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (2-9, 0-0 NEC) was outscored 9-5 in the series finale against the Manhattan Jaspers (3-7, 0-0 MAAC) on Sunday afternoon.
How it happened
- The Knights opened the scoring in the first inning bringing home one runner to make it 1-0. Tom Ruscitti scored off a bunt single by Hunter D'Amato. Verga, who finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs and one run, hit a three-run blast in the same inning to give the Knights the lead, 4-0.
- Manhattan responded with three runs in the top of the second.
- In the top of the third, the Jaspers hit a home run and two RBIs to take the lead 6-4.
- After two scoreless innings, Joan Sosa hit an RBI double, bringing Ruscitti to home plate, cutting the deficit 6-5.
- Manhattan extended its lead 9-5 with a two-run homer and a single to left field RBI in the top of the eighth.

- Sosa went 2-for-3, collecting a double and an RBI.
