AMHERST, N.Y. - FDU men's volleyball fell in straight sets at Daemen on Saturday afternoon as
Rui Fernandes led the Knights in four statistical categories.
Fernandes paced the team with 17 assists, two service aces, two blocks and four digs, adding three kills on a .400 clip for a total 6.5 points. Along with Fernandes, three Knights hit over a .300 average at the net.

Set One

Santiago La Jara posted a kill and a block to open scoring for the Knights.
-Back-to-back service aces bolstered a five-point run by Daemen, forcing an 8-3 lead.
-The Knights broke down Daemen's lead with a five-point run capped by a service ace by Fernandes to force a Wildcat timeout.
-With a series of kills off assists by Fernandes, FDU worked to close the gap late in the set.
-Daemen took the set 25-19 with a final kill by Zach Schneider.
Set Two

Lorenzo Bonomo opened the second set with a rainbow shot for the Knights lead.
-Daemen gained momentum on a 7-2 stretch, broke up with back-to-back kills by
Jack Lydon.
-Fernandes added a pair of setter dumps to put the Knights within one of the Wildcats.
-The Wildcats jumped into control on a 9-1 run to close the set 25-14.
Set Three
-Daemen jumped out to an early 6-3 lead with a pair of service aces by Michael Krueger.
-FDU stayed within a one-point deficit with a pair of attacks by La Jara.
-As each team deposited nine kills, it was Daemen's serving precision that shut out the Knights in the final set.
