TEANECK, N.J. -In the second game of the series, the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (7-15, 2-0) secured a 9-7 win over Mount St. Mary's (4-13, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon.
How it happened
- The Mountaineers opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first inning, two of them scored on a triple to center field.
- In the bottom of the first, Hunter D'Amato scored the first run for the Knights on an RBI single to center by Tommy Verga, making the score 3-1.
- MSM added another run in the top of the second from an RBI single to the right field.
- Brelon Harden blasted his first career home run as a Knight in the bottom of the second and Luke Cantwell followed with another solo home run in the bottom of the third, to make it 4-3.
- After a scoreless inning, FDU tied the game with a run by Joan Sosa.
- The Mount regained the lead with a run scored on a grounded out bunt to the pitcher.
- In the bottom of the six, the Knights responded with five runs, taking the lead 9-5. D'Amato and Sosa got hit by pitch allowing George Rosales and TJ Werner to score. Zack Will scored on a grounded out to third by Cantwell and Harden registered a two-RBI single bringing Sosa and D'Amato in.
- MSM added two more runs in the top of the seventh to make it 9-7, but it was not enough to catch up to FDU.
Inside the box
- Evan Stewart picked up the win (1-2) by going one inning and allowing just one run. Jude Baxt takes the save for striking out three in the last two innings of play.
- Harden went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, a run, and a walk.
- Cantwell registered two RBIs, a walk, and two hits.

The Knights play the final game in the three-day series tomorrow March 27 at 1 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex in Teaneck, N.J.
