HAMILTON, N.J. - Following the Knights' play-in match loss in the 2022 Northeast Conference Championship, league Associate Commissioner for Sport Services Benjamin Shove announced the All-NEC teams for the 2021-22 season, along with the conference's major award recipients, at Hamilton Lanes and Entertainment Center.
The lone member of No. 13 FDU women's bowling to earn a spot on the first team is graduate student
Jenna Henderson, last season's NEC Bowler of the Year. Garnering the nod for the second-consecutive season, Henderson has been a crucial member of the Knights' trio of "super seniors" as the Washington, N.J. native averaged 21.14 pins per frame over 210 frames in league play in the regular season, behind only NEC Bowler of the Year Olivia Farwell (Duquesne). One of two southpaws on this year's Knights squad, Henderson led the league with a 9.17 first-ball average and ranked first with her .910 fill percentage over the three NEC competitions. Comfortable in each of the scoring formats followed by NCAA and NEC women's, Henderson finished second in the league in fill percentage in traditional conference matches at .943 and in Baker play (combined total pinfall and match play) with a mark of .894.
Garnering an unprecedented fifth All-NEC slot is graduate student
Amanda Chrzanowski who, along with redshirt sophomore
Julianna Spina, was named to the Second Team All-NEC. Chrzanowski led the league with a 9.17 first-ball average and ranked first with her .910 fill percentage in NEC play. An All-American her junior season and NTCA All-America Honorable Mention last season, the five-year Knight hailing from Schenectady, N.Y. finished in the top 10 in almost every category in the eight-team Northeast Conference.
Showing remarkable improvement this season, Spina built on her NTCAÂ All-Rookie Team honor from last season to help propel FDU to a 6-1 finish in the final NEC meet of the campaign. Averaging 20.059 pins per frame in 170 frames of play this season, the East Islip, N.Y. product's output has been unquestionable this season. Bowling 22 league frames as
Mike LoPresti's leadoff bowler, Spina finished third in the conference in first frame strike percentage, finishing with a mark of 45.5 percent. Through the final NEC meet, Spina finished in the top 15 in the Player Composite Performance Index (PCPI), coming in at 14 with a PCPI of just under 63 percent in 170 frames which comes out to 80.2 percent of NEC frames bowled by the team.
