TEANECK, N.J. -The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (3-13, 0-0 NEC) dropped an afternoon matchup against the Siena Saints (2-11, 0-0 MAAC) 9-5 at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex Wednesday.
How it happened
- Siena opened the scoring with a run in the third inning.
- FDU took the lead in the bottom of the fourth after an RBI double by David Bordieri Jr., allowing Justin Sierra and Joan Sosa to score. Bordieri scored on a single to center field by Jack Giovenco to make it 3-1.
- Hunter D'Amato and Bre Harden added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, making it 5-1.
- The Saints responded with a seven-run inning to regain the lead, 8-5.
- In the eighth inning, Siena hit a home run to make the final score 9-5.
Inside the box
- Ethan Rembish got the start on the hill for FDU, giving up a walk and four strikeouts.
- Evan Stewart earned the loss, giving up three runs and two walks to move his record to 0-2 on the year.
- Giovenco went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
- Harden registered two stolen bases and one hit.
- Bordieri went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a double.
