BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team (0-2, 0-0 NEC) battled until the final point but came up shy in a 4-3 loss to Binghamton (1-6, 0-0 AEC) in their second match of the spring season on Saturday. 

Doubles action kicked things off, as the Bearcats' duo of Kyle Weekes and Roe Flannelly knocked off sophomore Arjun Sriram and graduate student Moric Budinszky, 6-3. Binghamton followed that up with a victory in the No. 3 spot as Anshumat Srivastava and Courage Crawford defeated freshman Thomas Linley and junior Taiga Koyama, 6-3. Junior Teodors Pukse and freshman Justas Trainauskas battled in the No. 1 stop before the match was called at 3-5, and the doubles point was awarded to the Bearcats. 

In singles action, Pukse dropped the first match to Verma in the No. 1 spot, 6-4, 6-2, to go down 2-0. In the No. 4 spot, Linley took down Roe Flannelly in two sets, 6-3, 6-4, to cut the Bearcats deficit to 2-1. Budinszky came up short in the No. 3 spot, 6-7 (5), 3-6. Trainauskas won in a three-set battle with Pergel in the No. 2 spot, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (10), 6-4. Ben-Ari clinched the match for Binghamton as he was victorious over Tardin in the No. 6 spot, 7-6(4), 6-2. Sriram completed his match with a win over Srivastava, 7-6(4), 6-2.  

Up next, the Knights will travel to Bethpage, N.Y. to take on Hofstra this Thursday, Feb 10 at the Sportime Bethpage Tennis Center.
