HACKENSACK, N.J. -FDU women's basketball raced out to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter and led by as many as 37 points to pick up a win, knocking off the Blue Devils 72-35 on Saturday afternoon at the Rothman Center.
The Knights improved to 14-8 overall and 11-1 in the NEC, while Central Connecticut dropped to 3-16 and 2-10 in the conference.
The Knights celebrated the 30th anniversary of the 1991-1992 NEC women's basketball championship. Members from the team along with other women's basketball alumni were honored at halftime.

The Knights took a 21-10 lead after the first quarter. Dahomée Forgues scored 11 out of 21 points for the Knights. The Burgundy and Blue shot 63% from the field.

FDU grew their lead to 21 points in the second quarter. Graduate student Madison Stanley hit a jumper with one second prior to halftime, taking the Knights to the break with a 32-16 lead.

The Knights extended the lead over the third quarter and went into the fourth with a 34-point lead.

The Knights closed out the fourth quarter with freshman Allie McGinn scoring the final two points.

Stanley becomes the 19th member of the FDU women's basketball team to reach 1,000 points scored. The fifth-year student-athlete hit the mark with 4:10 to go in the third quarter.

The Knights recorded their eighth consecutive win as they lead the conference on an 11-1 record, the best start to NEC play in program history.

Stanley led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forgues added 11 points and 2 assists.
