HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU women's basketball secured their seventh straight win with a great fourth quarter. The Knights improved to 13-8 overall and 10-1 in the NEC, while St. Francis Brooklyn slipped to 11-8 and 7-4 in the conference.
How it Happened
- The Knights jumped out to a 8-0 lead after a three-point shot from Rachael Niles. Madison Stanley scored 9 out of 15 points in the first quarter. The Terriers shot 50% from the field and held a 21-15 lead after the first quarter.
- St. Francis Brooklyn began the second quarter increasing their lead to 11 points with 3:55 left in the half at 30-19. FDU would rally, and held the Terriers scoreless the remainder of the second quarter and battled back to within a point at the break, 30-29.
- FDU well behind as much as 7 in the third quarter. With 6 seconds left in the quarter, Niles, drained a three from the corner but the Terriers responded with a three of their own at the buzzer to maintain their slim lead.
- In the fourth quarter, the Knights took control with an 8-0 run to take the lead 49-48. After the teams exchanged baskets, Sierra DeAngelo drilled a three-pointer with just over two minutes remaining to give the Knights a 54-51 lead. FDU held St. Francis scoreless the remainder of the game.
