PIKESVILLE, MD. -The Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team (2-3, 0-0 NEC) found a 4-3 victory over Towson (1-4, 0-0 CAA) on Saturday night at the Coppermine Racquet and Fitness Club.
Freshman Namie Isago and junior Alena Kubanova triumphed over Towson's Amelia Lawson and Lea Kosanovic by a score of 6-3. Senior Aleksandra Vorozheikina and sophomore Gauri Bhagia found similar success in their defeat of Antonia Lawson and Jessica Assenmacher 6-3 at No. 3.
In singles play, junior Amina Lasheen dominated at No. 4 to win her match against Sarah Pospischill, 6-1, 6-1. At the No. 3 spot Kubanova defeated Assenmacher in two sets, 6-1, 6-2. At the No. 6 spot, Isago defeated Elessa Jocobs, 6-1, 6-3, to move the overall score 4-0 and secure the victory for the FDU. Towson struck the last three matches in spots No. 5, 2, and 1.
